1. Filipino word: Duyog

English translation: Eclipse

Definition; An occasion when the sun looks like it is completely or partially covered with dark circle because the moon is between the sun and the Earth. (source: Meriam-Webster)

Sentence: Marami ang namamangha sa duyog.

2. Filipino word: Hatinig

English translation: Telephone

Definition: A system that converts acoustic vibrations to electric signals in order to transmit sound.

Sentence: Ginamit ko ang hatinig upang tawagan ang aking ina.

3. Filipino Word: Katipan

English Translation: Husband/wife

Definition: committed couples

Sentence: Nagdagsaan ang mga pa surpresa ng mga magkatipan noong Araw ng mga Puso.

4. Filipino Word: Sulatroniko

English translation: E-mail

Sentence: Ako ay nagpadala sa sulatroniko ng akong mensahe.

5. Filipino Word: Labaha

English translation: Razor

Definition: A keen-edged cutting instrument for shaving or cutting hair.

Sentence: Ginamit ko ang labaha upang ipang-ahit sa aking balbas.

6. Filipino Word: Dupil

English translation: Amulet

Definition: It is an amulet, or anything that is believed to have power to save the person who owns it from any harm.

Sentence: Ginamit ni Juan ang dupil na bigay sa kaniya ng kaniyang nanay.

7. Filipino Word: Durungawan

English translation: Window

Definition: an opening, in the wall of a building for admission of light and air.

Sentence: Nakita ko sa aming durungawan ang napaka gandang langit.

8. Filipino word: Kalupi

English translation: wallet

Definition: A container of our money

Sentence: Nawala ang aking kalupi noong isang araw.

9. Filipino word: Batlag

English translation: Car

Definition: A vehicle moving on wheels

10. Filipino word: Anluwage

English translation: Carpenter

Definition: A worker who builds or repair wooden structures or their structural parts.
